Season 2001 Concerts
Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival presents eleven world-class chamber musicians in three original programs -- each with a repeat concert to accommodate our growing audiences -- for a total of six concerts. Please visit our PROGRAM and ARTISTS pages for more specific concert information.
Concerts slated for August 29 and 31, and September 4 and 5 will be held at Orcas Island's 213-seat performance hall, Orcas Center. All Orcas Center concerts begin at 7:30pm and conclude around 9:30pm (with intermission). Each concert is followed by a post-concert reception, where audience members can mingle with the artists!
The remaining two concerts slated for September 1 will be held at Orcas Island's Emmanuel Episcopal Church (on Main Street in Eastsound Village). Performances are at 2pm and 7:30pm, again followed by a post-concert reception.

Orcas Center is conveniently located in Eastsound on Mt. Baker Road, near restaurants and shops, and is a 25 minute drive from the ferry landing. From the ferry landing drive north on Horseshoe Highway for 20 minutes, drive into Eastsound, turn left at North Beach Road, and right on Mt. Baker Road. You will see the Center on your right. There is plenty of parking.
Since Orcas Center was built in 1985, it has been the focal point of entertainment and culture for the Orcas Island community. Everything from plays and musicals to a choir of Tibetan monks has been presented at Orcas Center. In November 1995 Jon Kimura Parker gave a sold-out piano recital and a free children's concert, sponsored by Rolf Eriksen. The success of this concert was, in part, the inspiration for founding the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.
The historic Emmanuel Episcopal Church is also located in Eastsound, just upon your entrance to the
village on Main Street. Islanders and tourists alike identify the Church's beautiful setting and historic
architecture with the more quiet and sacred aspects of the island. Once inside, performers and audiences
are impressed by the excellent acoustics, intricate woodwork and artistic stained glass.Information for ordering our First Season CD
