Thank you for participating in making the Orcas Chamber Music Festival a dream come true!
In its first season, Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival merchandising got off to an excellent start - this authentic Festival wear adorned byzaanchi player Anatoli Kuular of the throat-singing quartet Huun-Huur-Tu. From the remote and unpronounceable "Kyzyl", capital of Tuva, an independent Russian republic between South Siberia and Mongolia, these ethnic throat-singers clearly know great chamber music when they hear it!
If the festival isn't enough of a reason for having a vacation on Orcas Island, consider this: whale watching, hiking to the top of Mount Constitution in Moran State Park, boating to the marine parks nearby, biking, relaxing with a few rounds of golf, browsing the numerous arts and crafts shops, and sampling the local cuisine. The blackberry pie at Café Olga is highly recommended!
Sounds inviting, doesn't it? So pick up your phone, and call Orcas Center for tickets at (360) 376-ACT1 (376-2281). Assure yourself an overnight stay by calling the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce Lodging Hotline at (360) 376-8888. Don't wait until the last minute! Visitors to Orcas Island over Labor Day Weekend will likely outnumber available accommodations.
